Software Engineer | Manager | Architect in Robotics (m/f/x)

 

We are seeking a lead in software development who will be responsible for the entire software development and who will manage our growing team of developers within the full development life cycle.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Strategic build up of our software including motion control, visual plant recognition, autonomous navigation & corresponding APIs
  • Define and execute an engineering roadmap for the team
  • Define and build the organizational setup of the development team (~6 developers)
  • Plan, monitor and steer strategic development topics
  • Keep track of KPIs, implement agile software development practices
  • Coordinate, guide, and oversee the engineering work of your team
  • Close collaboration with founding team

Profile & requirements

  • Work experience in managing development teams and co-directing the development process
  • Strong software engineering and open-source background, ideally practical experience in robotics (ROS and related software components)
  • Comfortable with object-oriented & functional programming languages
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary & diverse team
  • A technical mindset with a strong strategic focus
  • Hands-on mentality: you might have to get your hands dirty during field testings
  • Preferably German skills

Software Engineer in Motion Control (m/f/x)

 

We are seeking a motion control developer who will bring our robot to life and who will enable autonomous driving under real farm land conditions. 

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Build, test, validate & debug the software and hardware required for the motion control
  • Create different testing environments & calibration methods
  • Integration of software & hardware into the robot
  • Close collaboration with our developer team, engineers, and suppliers

Profile & requirements

  • University degree & work experience in the relevant field
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary & diverse team
  • Hands-on experience in dealing with sensors (wheel encoders, hall sensors, IMU etc.)
  • Comfortable with C++ or embedded C
  • Experience with communication protocols such as CAN, UART, RS232, etc.
  • Ideally experience with safety functions & sensors (e.g. radar, lidar)
  • Hands-on mentality: you might have to get your hands dirty during field testings
  • Affinity with robotics

Internships & working student positions

 

Hi students! We are looking for active support in bringing our robot onto the fields. Are you looking for a working student or internship position? We have various areas where we highly value your contribution. Tasks include (but are not limited to):

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

  • Support in setting up navigation and path planning of the robot
  • Contributing to the build-up of communication protocols
  • Finetuning the motion control
  • Supporting the development of our computer vision algorithm

MARKETING

  • Redesigning our website and co-creating new content
  • Preparing our exhibition booth for the upcoming trade fair (marketing materials, clothes etc.)
  • Managing our social media channels (setting up Instagram, maintaining LinkedIn)
  • Developing the E-TERRY brand

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

  • Mechanical assembly and wiring of our robot
  • Issue reporting in the development process
  • Installation of components
  • Performing & documenting tests in different environments

TEAM ASSISTANCE

  • Supporting with operational, strategic and administrative tasks
  • Contributing to the introduction and implementation of processes
  • Processing of orders & invoices
  • Doing research on various topics

Working hours (flexible)

internship: 38h per week
working student: 10-20h per week

For all internship and working student positions we require you to be enrolled as a student in the relevant field and to have solid first work experience.

Compensation: 12€ per hour
